Roy and Shirley Jones and their then two young daughters took their Crossroads DTS in Salem, Oregon in 1995. They then moved to Switzerland where they served with YWAM for 14 years. The first six years of this time were at YWAM Lausanne where Roy worked as an assistant to Loren Cunningham (founder of YWAM) and Shirley was involved in several areas including staffing schools. In 2010 they relocated to Northern Ireland where they are part of the YWAM Rostrevor An Cuan (The Harbour) Centre. Their eldest daughter took her own DTS in Kona early in 2011 and currently serves with YWAM in Asia.
The Joneses attended their first Associates Gathering in Sweden in the summer of 1998 and ran the first Gathering in Switzerland in 2002. They've organised Associates Gatherings in Switzerland each year since, in France since 2006 and, in cooperation with local YWAM Centres, in the Norwegian Arctic Circle and other European nations. 2009 was a highlight as the first Gathering took place in Israel.
In 2005, Roy and Shirley were commissioned by Iain Muir (of YWAM Team 3 Leadership Group) plus Peter and Donna Jordan as the European co-ordinators of YWAM Associates International. Their desire is to see the ministry develop and grow in many more nations throughout Europe.
