1 - Matters that Matter -- It's not about money
_________________________________________
It's about the love of money. It's about contentment - whether you have a
lot or too little or just enough. It's about responsible care for what you
do have (get outta debt!). It's about generosity, about percentages and not
amounts that you give away. It's about your heart, and in case you don't
know where your ticker is, you'll find it snuggled up to your treasure. And
your treasure is either money, things or people.
Growing up, my family didn't have much money - just enough. So the subject of money seldom came up amongst us four kids and we never even considered that we might one day receive an inheritance. It was not an issue. Dad was a career missionary (43 years in and around China), and that was that.
Imagine my surprise, when following the passing of my Mom and then my Dad I
received an inheritance cheque for 25% of what Dad had left behind after
funeral expenses. I wish I'd kept that cheque and framed it and hung it on
the wall as a testimony to the faithfulness of God to our family; but I
didn't because if I remember right, Donna and I needed it back then. That
cheque was for $64.
How should we then give? Ask God!
Now that may be a bit scary for some of
us, but 30 years ago - after mingily and miserly throwing a few bucks in
the
offering plate each Sunday for a lot of years - Donna and I did ask the
Lord
how to give. And He spoke to us and to this day we have tried to follow the
path He gave us.
I'd be glad to share that personal path with anyone who writes to me and asks.
But beware!
This is neither a pathway to plenty nor a formula for a
fortune. But the rewards are great. I think maybe it's one of the tracks of
learning-how-to-please-God-in-detail.
Be blessed.
Peter

The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquito’s come close

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.
Some minds are like concrete, thoroughly mixed up and permanently set
.
We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges

We'd like to hear from you about your victories, your struggles, even your ideas on how to improve eTouch. Meanwhile, here are some quotes from.
HappyCampers at recent inTouch Gatherings...
"This week was the best week of my life". (A 17 year-old boy)
"I learned that God doesn't need us to understand everything - just to walk
with Him".
"I'm seeing the big picture again, but I must always keep going back to God
for the next step".
"David Demian's teaching blew the top off my head and expanded me".
"I think I've found myself". (Young teenage girl)
"That was the most life-changing week in the whole of my life: it's not how
high you are but how whole you are".
"Jesus spoke to me and I want to go home and relate to Him back there too". (Young man age 22)
"God spoke to me in every session, every day".

It's all about FAMILY
.
While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to talk to him. Someone told him, "Your mother and
brothers
are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” He replied to him, "Who is My mother, and who are My brothers? “Pointing to his disciples, He said, "Here are my mother and my brother.
For
whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and
mother." (Matt.12:46)
WOW!
God is networking His family together, not because of vision or program but because of LOVE and obedience for the Father and for each other. Jesus said,
"If you love me you will obey me." (John 14:15). The greatest commandment
is
to love God with all our hearts, souls and minds, and to love our neighbor as we love our self.
The 'net' to catch the coming harvest, will be the family - those who are willing to listen to the Father, have faith to believe what He is saying
and
walk in obedience. By our love for each other, people will know that we are
His disciples (John13:34-35)
As associates, we are 'family'; not because we are in or out of YWAM but because we want to do our Father's will.
It's as though we're in a relay race; if you win, I win - in fact I want
you
to do better than me. The saints we read about in Hebrews 11 are also
'rooting' for us and encouraging us to keep our eyes on Jesus; and that we
would throw off anything that hinders us. What rejoicing there will be at
the finish line!
I love you - you're family, and I so want to see you fulfilled in all that God has for you. (2 Tim 4: 7-8)
